Version 0.0.040: Chance to hit update


Action Preview now shows the real chance to hit

The game rolls 2 six sided dice to determine hit rates. I now display that chance out of 36. In the screenshot, there is a 21 out of 36 chance to crit, a 14 out of 36 chance to hit, 1 out of 36 chance to miss and you cannot botch, it's a 0 out of 36 chance. Some of the feedback I got mentioned the percentages were difficult to derive and understand, so I made it more direct.

I also added horizontal bars to represent each chance so you can tell hit rate distribution at a glance.

Bug Fix: You can switch actions and targets after cancelling the target

The game softlocked if you had 2 targets to choose from and you picked 1 and then cancelled, and tried to pick another. State Machine had too much state lingering around. There were also processes that stepped on each other's toes and prevented you from switching to another teammate. Fixed (hopefully)

What's next?

  • More art for the game cover. I'm falling behind for game art. Music class is fun!
  • The game slows down near the finale. Is there a performance issue I need to profile? Maybe the Pathfinding is having trouble.
  • Highlight teammates with a different color.
