Version 0.0.021: Preview Window
Happy New Years, folks.
Preview Window!
I'm glad for the week of work off, because this window took way too long. It gave me several ideas to codify UI creation and drawing so I can reuse some of it.
When you click on a target you willl see:
- The target's name
- The chance of hitting, critting, missing, and botching
- The expected damage of each outcome
- A "NO DAMAGE" or "NO CHANGE" if it won't affect them
- Not showing the chance to hit if it's automatic
There's a lot of use cases and presentation issues that go into this - and I still need to tweak more.
Renamed
- "Ignore Terrain Cost" is now "Hustle"
- A Critical Failure is now a "botch"
Thinking up terminology is hard, especially when you aim for brevity.
Added a new bonus type - Proficiency. If you are Proficient in something you can add your Tier and an additional bonus to it. Pathfinder 2nd edition has a similar mechanic.
Bug fixes
Sometimes Torrin and Sir Camil's map icons wouldn't load and they would be invisible. Finally found the race condition and fixed it.
Boston Indies Game Demo
The night of Jan 20th at the Aeronaut Brewing Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Boston Indies is hosting Demo Night, and this game will make another appearance. I'll be working on stability and performance issues in the meantime.
If you're in the area, here's the Meetup event you can sign up for. Or just showup at around 7PM or so.
